| Dr. Albert Willicor |
| Chief Medical Officer |
|
One of the four areas of ministry focus for the United Methodist Church includes addressing diseases of poverty. We participate in the global health initiative by supporting a hospital and two missionaries in Liberia.
Dr. Willicor serves as the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital in Ganta, Liberia. He provides health care to people whose conditions have been worsened by 14 years of civil war. Children under the age of five have been the hardest hit—predominantly by malaria with its complications, respiratory disease, and diarrhea.
Until October, 2010 he was the only physician on staff of the 100 bed hospital serving approximately 450,000 people. There are now two physicians. The hospital in Ganta is the only referral hospital in this part of the world.
Pray for Dr. Willicor and the patients being cared for at the Ganta Hospital. Pray for the community in Ganta, Liberia and the health and wellness of the people of Liberia. Pray for the many people affected by HIV/AIDS and malaria.
